Here’s a cool cat I saw outside a pet shop just to the left of Studentski trg/Student Square on Friday. I think the pet shop owners own the cat, considering it has its own little shelter from the sun that also serves as a table for the shop’s staff on their cigarette and coffee breaks. There’s also a plate of kitty food, out of sight, on the table.

Looks a darn sight better-fed than most cats you’re likely to see on the streets of Belgrade. Over-fed, actually, it’s going to have a “sr?ka” if it’s not careful!

I know this cat, and it takes no lip. Doesn’t flinch when Bibi walks by, and she keeps her distance!

ma?ka (?????) [spelt much-kah], name originates probably from Hungarian (macska); means domestic cat, but also a female cat (queen); male cat (tom) is called ma?ak (?????) [much-acc] or ma?or (?????) [much-or]
