It snowed almost non-stop for several days last week in Belgrade, covering the city in inches upon inches of clean, white snow. Unfortunately, it’s not so pretty when it becomes slushy and dirty.
This is photo was taken on Saturday afternoon at Republic Square (Trg republike). It’s one of the main meeting points for friends before going shopping, eating or drinking. So, if you’re told to meet “kod konja” (at the horse), you know you should stand near the statue of Prince Mihailo (above) in front of the National Museum building.

Wow, that’s a beautiful photo, especially with all that snow (or ???? as we say in Russian). I’ve never been to Belgrade, unfortunately, but it looks like a beautiful city.

Oh dear, my lovely Russian characters do not appear to have gone through properly… in the Latin alphabet (which we obviously don’t use, but I don’t seem to have a choice), snow in Russian is sneg.

Belgrade is beautiful in its own charming way
The word for snow is also ’sneg’ in Serbian.
